March 27 @ 7:00 pm - March 28 @ 7:00 am
Hello BUTB Fans and Supporters,
We can’t believe we’re already entering the second month of 2020! The year is off to a great start here and we’re anticipating an amazing year. We have new projects in process and events planned to help expand and support our mission to help those we serve under the bridge and those that live beyond – and hope you can help! One of the ways we will be bringing awareness and raising funds to keep our mission alive is by showing Mercy! We will be holding our 3rd annual Merciful March event on March 27, 2020, from 7 pm to 7 am. As we share a
building on the Valley Christian School campus at 10212 E 9th Avenue, this year we are holding the event on their fence field. Breakfast will be provided the next morning! You will also receive a t-shirt with your $50.00 registration fee, and we’ll have raffles going on throughout the night and auctioning off bedrolls and chairs. This movement is to experience and “ spend one night in their shoes ”! Coming together to show Mercy for 12 hours. This event is to only grasp a speck of what it feels like to sleep on the ground, be uncomfortable and appreciate the things we take for granted, such as warmth, comfort, bedding, and security.
We held our first event in 2017. Over 100 people in our community slept together under the bridge and we raised over $20,000. The stories of impact by those who participated were humbling and the intent and purpose of the event were conveyed and received well. Our goal is to triple the participants.
This year we would like to make a larger impact and fill up the field with you personally and/or the support of your team, school, group or business. We want to use this special event to bring our community and city together. 2020 is the year to show more compassion and mercy. It is the only way to bring hope and change to the reality of homelessness.
Here is where you can take part-Remember this is also a fundraiser!
● Be a sponsor for this event – See me for levels and amounts
● Participate personally – You can have someone sponsor you for each hour you sleep outside
● Have your workplace participate as a group and team-building effort
● Challenge other related affiliates such as Business-to-Business or School-to-School. (This will bring
some fun and competition to man-hours logged and funds raised)
● Match a certain amount raised by person or % of totals raised that night
● Donate a dollar amount in honor of one or more people who sleep outside every day
● Donate a Raffle or Auction item
Let’s show Mercy together this March!
